Supported Internships Helping you make the journey from education into employment This one-year programme works closely with you to build your confidence and prepare you for the world of work. Supported Internships Explained We work with you in your work placement to support and grow your independence and employability skills. Our Supported Internships work for young people who learn best when doing. We will help you find a placement that suits you, paying attention to your goals and aspirations. You will have a work coach who will be with you every step of the way and regularly check that everything is going okay. We aim to help you to find paid employment or an alternative work pathway at the end of the programme! Supported Internships help you grow your confidence and find paid work doing something you enjoy. Find out more about Supported Internships Process Here is the process of the Supported Internship programme, from the referral to the end of the programme: What does it mean to the interns? “My Internship changed my life because I would never have got on a bus on my own, but now I travel on my own to work and I can use my own initiative and I’m feeling more confident” Danielle (previous intern at Medway Community Healthcare Residential Home). What does it mean to parents and carers? “It’s had a significant impact on Monty’s life because it’s changed him not only socially, but also financially, where he looks after his own money and he can actually get on a bus and do bus travel” Mark (Monty’s father).
