Young people from our Supported Internship programme recently came together to celebrate National Supported Internship Day, recognising their achievements and sharing their experiences.

The event was a chance to reflect on the progress our interns have made from building workplace skills to growing in confidence and independence through their placements.

It was inspiring to see the pride they take in their journeys and the support they offer one another.

Across the UK, organisations also marked the day, helping to raise awareness of supported internships. Locally, Rochester Bridge and Rochester Cathedral were lit up in orange, shining a light on the importance of inclusive employment and the opportunities these programmes create.

A member of staff at bemix said:

“National Supported Internship Day is a great chance to highlight how supported internships benefit both young people and employers. Raising awareness helps more businesses access dedicated talent, while giving individuals the opportunity to build skills, confidence, and a future in work.”

It was particularly powerful to see interns celebrating together, sharing stories, encouraging each other, and recognising how far they have come.

Moments like these highlight the real impact Supported Internships have, not just on employment outcomes, but on confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.

We are incredibly proud of all our interns and everything they continue to achieve. Their determination and growth are a reminder of why inclusive employment matters and why we will continue to champion opportunities for all.
