Our Preparation for Employment Group in Canterbury recently enjoyed taking part in the Lego Trail through Canterbury town.

The trail brought together many local shops, all joining in the festive fun by welcoming visitors and offering special stamps. The group visited a range of participating businesses, collecting stamps along the way and enjoying the chance to explore the town centre together. It was a relaxed and enjoyable activity that encouraged everyone to get out into the community and try something new.

Craig was really pleased with the Lego "It was fun and the Lego sets are really good!"

To take part in the Lego Trail, people can collect a map and stamp sheet from Canterbury Library. Once five stamps have been collected from different participating shops, the completed sheet can be taken to Fenwick’s and exchanged for a Lego prize. The clear goal of collecting stamps made the activity engaging and rewarding for everyone involved.

Activities like this are an important part of the work we do at bemix. They support people to practice everyday skills that are useful for employment and independent living, such as planning a route, managing time, communicating with shop staff and following instructions. Being in a busy public space also helped build confidence and familiarity with local services.

The Lego Trail was a great example of how community activities can be both fun and meaningful.

Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to the local businesses and organisations who helped make the trail such a positive experience for the group.
