Jobs and News News Discovering Geocaching in Personal Development! In bemix Supported Employment, young people spend time learning in a classroom, as well as gaining real-life experience during work experience placements, and in Supported Internships. During Personal Development classroom lessons, young people recently explored an exciting activity: Geocaching! This outdoor treasure hunt uses GPS to locate hidden "geocaches" and was a first-time experience for many in the group. Supported Employment programmes support young people to build confidence, independence, and teamwork skills, equipping them for the world of work. Personal Development lessons play a vital role in this journey. Geocaching combines nature, exploration, and problem-solving, and the group quickly got hooked after finding the first hidden container. Everyone enjoyed deciphering clues and signing the logbooks, which added an element of surprise to the adventure. Beyond the fun, Geocaching taught us teamwork and persistence. Now that finding geocaches has been mastered, the group plan to create and hide their own for others to discover! "It was very engaging and entertaining." - Ben Supported Employment opens doors for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism so that they can thrive in employment.
